“Pray in the Gaps” reads a conveniently placed pink sticky-note that hangs above the Mr. Coffee coffee pot at my grandmothers home in Indiana. I returned stateside about one month ago today and processing this previous trip has been a tough task since sleeping once again on American soil. Five countries later, fifteen friends turned family, countless lives transformed, and equally as many testimonies of the Lords power and love to share. Here are small poems and photos of each place. Enjoy!
Montenegro:
Where the snow-capped peaks meet the turning waters
Lord your presence comforted my deepest pleas.
My fear of being known, deeply known, lingered
Until they came speaking Your truths over me.
Showing me how to face your Son
As the sunflower seeks the same.
In a country post-religious and wandering
I learned how to delight in Thy name.
Kyrgyzstan:
They have been taught to be like the land
Cold and guarded, their hearts then follow.
Until they hear of the Fathers hand
Shoulders hold the weighty sorrow.
A strong cry from weak lungs
Now welcome a different breath.
Strength and joy found in a name
Many here still yet to utter.
In Christ they stand now unashamed
Desiring to please no other.
Jordan:
A country that borders the Holy Land
Has been riddled with the great counterfeit.
Islam is on the hearts inside
But the Lord is working surrounding it.
The Spirits’ moving is bringing new water
To a parched land, Christ revealed.
His beauty and honor returning here again.
Our Triune God on display.
Egypt:
A new Pharaoh preying for the peoples worship
But a prophecy provides promised hope.
In a land painted with untruth and deceit
Divine ways through the wilderness unravel.
Help to the wandering
Faith restored, taste and see.
Returning to revival.
Pakistan:
King Jesus reigns in rural villages
Where those ‘without’ live abundantly free.
A church praising through persecution
To give the Lord our God due glory.
Waiting to sing aloud among neighbors
The promises and praises of their story.
Send more laborers Lord
To the harvest we see.
Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus.
Such beautiful country
This is beautiful thanks for sharing!
