Yes that’s right…just keep reading!
I’ve been in Costa Rica for over a week now on the field, and so much has happened. I spent the first week with two teams, Refuge and Forerunners, at a church in the eastern side of Turrialba. While I was with them, they built a sidewalk and painted the exterior of the church! It was a slow and beautiful time with them where I witnessed them grow and flourish into more of who they’re created to be. I was blessed enough to be around them as they joyfully served the Lord and His people in Turrialba. Their intentionality and excitement to experience more of God definitely encouraged me. I loved my time with them as they beautifully wrestled with the Lord. I am so stinking proud of them and the people they are already becoming.
On Wednesday, I transitioned to Team Overflow in the western part of Turrialba! It was a quick, hard, but beautiful move to their ministry and hosts. I got upgraded from the church floor to a futon, so I am living large here! I am loving getting to love on the locals and making the team here my ministry focus while doing life alongside them.
I am not going to lie, I lost focus on feeding myself for a few days and it felt as if I was just pointing others to Jesus instead of walking with them to be replenished. I know the wellspring, but need to go to Him myself. It was a hard lesson to learn, but I am thankful I learned it so early on leading this trip. I really do crave more of Jesus each day.
Yesterday was amazing though. At night we all slowed down before bed and just worshiped the Lord in our living room right up to ten o’clock…that’s when our next door neighbor, the witch, started throwing rocks at the roof of our ministry host’s house! After that happened four times, we closed in prayer and turned the worship down significantly, just in time for the Costa Rican Police to arrive outside our house. (due to a noise complaint from the neighboring witch) Unfortunately, they were too late to the party!
Today I got the beautiful gift of a sabbath day to recenter and rest with the Father. I spent this morning away from technology and close to our creator, lifting deserving-praise to His throne and being showered with His love. I then walked into town and grabbed lunch with Jesus and just sat and talked with Him and rested in His nearness.
Please be praying that I continue to seek to lead from rest with Him, and choose to abide with God daily.
ALSO- I am still fundraising and would love if you would consider donating!
Love y’all.

I loved this: “I lost focus on feeding myself for a few days and it felt as if I was just pointing others to Jesus instead of walking with them to be replenished.”
This is discipleship – walking with people to help them get replenished.
