And just like that, Romania came and went at what felt like forever yet also a blink of an eye. With half of the time spent in quarantine with Covid, the two weeks spent outside of the house doing ministry flew by! Getting to be a part of what the Lord is doing in Romania was a beautiful blessing. Our hearts felt so tied to the country because of the time spent interceding and covering the land with spirit lead prayers.

Our squad got to partake in amazing ministry that was mainly evangelism focused; handing out over 2,000 bibles, 1,000 new testaments, 3,500 ‘gospel posters’ and many beautiful friendships created. We were able to host an event for 18-30 year old’s and we had an amazing turnout that pushed us to max capacity of the gathering place! After that event, we put on a cultural event that was mainly for us to hear first hand from Muslims from a variety of different countries and upbringings. We had friends from Syria, Israel and Turkey join us to talk and discuss our lives with so much trust established between us. The day after the culture event, we got to hang out again with them. Our friends from Syria were kind enough to take us to their favorite local shawarma shop, then we went with them to meet up with our friends from Israel to play soccer and basketball. I got to learn so much about them and their lives, and it was amazing to get to do life with them even if was for a short bit of time. I pray that the interactions and conversations reached good soil and that they encountered the way of Jesus and all that our God is.

Yesterday, we arrived in Bucharest to receive our tests (9.14) before traveling via bus to Albania bright and early at 5:00 am today. We received 32 negative tests and our entire squad was cleared for travel! Unfortunately we had a medical emergency happen with a squad member, so myself and another squad mate stayed with her and will travel to meet up with the rest of the squad as soon as possible!

The Lord laid a much needed foundation for our squad this past month and prepared hearts for the remaining time on the field. I have some really exciting news about Albania, but I will have another blog out soon about what this next country will look like!

PSALM 16

You Will Not Abandon My Soul

Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”
3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,
in whom is all my delight.
The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply;
their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names on my lips.
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
10 For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,
or let your holy one see corruption.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

  1. Thanks for sharing, Drew. Sorry about the Covid interference, but happy for the experiences you had. We will be excited especially to hear your stories about Albania. Louis’ father migrated from Albania to America when he was 14, coming through Ellis Island. Blessings upon blessings are being sent to you.
